I'm a little famous ;)
My brother shared my instagram (@workingwanderer shamless self promotion) picture on reddit and it has over 2,000 upvotes and people are even photshopping my space suit on!!! This is so awesome :) #guatemala #ruins

Tikal Mayan ruins
Visiting the much anticipated Mayan Ruins of Tikal was definitely a real deep jungle experience not to missed, and still seems pretty off the beaten path for being such a large tourist attraction. The map we bought did not include the many endless wildlife trails that surround most temples and we happily got lost amongst giant frogs, howler monkeys and toucans! And here is where I will admit; organic insect repellent does NOT work in the real jungle! Savages! #guatemala #rui

My first real yoga class
My first yoga class outside of the training consisted of two 6'5 dutch and german men on a rooftop in Flores, Guatemala. We also went for healthy smoothies :). #guatemala #yoga #fitness

Semuc Champey
I still have one last yogi from the farm left to travel with! Mawney and I just can’t seem to shake loose of each other’s company just yet! We took an impromptu stop in Semuc Champey to break up the long trip from Antigua to Tikal and it did not disappoint. A monstrous river dips underneath the earth where these crystal blue pools form from the mountain water runoff. The pools are fairly big and great for swimming. For some reason we also said to hell with our shoes and walk

Trekking Volcano Fuego
I don’t know why I think these treks will get easier. Climbing the third highest Volcano Acatenango to see Volcano Fuego was a huge challenge. It only took us five-ish hours to get up to top, but we were lugging all of our stuff and our own water! It was also extremely steep. I’m glad I had a few of my friends from the yoga training there to keep pushing me along. The views were so worth the struggle though. I know I say this a lot, but seeing that volcano erupt was the prob

Office Space of The Week
Before I had arrived in Semuc Champey, I had double-checked that the hostel had wifi. The response was that there was “jungle wifi” so it comes and goes sometimes. Well, the wifi here consisted of walking five minutes up a steep hill to a hut with a stone bench outside. The first time I came here it was pitch black too. It took two hours to send one email! Hilarious situation in retrospect though. #officespaces #guatemala

San Marcos Fermentation Workshop
Today the rest of us mystical yoga farm stragglers attended an all day fermentation workshop in San Marcos on Lake Atitlan Guatemala. We had been well addicted to Love Probiotics, a local company run by a couple that makes kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, vinegar and a few other fermented items. These products were pretty much all we could get our hands on all month, so we were not only intrigued, but a little obsessed with this brand. When the opportunity came to learn how to m

Yoga Teacher Training in Guatemala
There won’t be a combination of words to properly explain my experience at the Mystical Yoga farm, but I’ll give the best description I can! To arrive at the farm, you have to take a small boat, and it’s a plot of land completely secluded from the rest of the lake. This means no wifi, no coffee, and no contact with anything in the outside world for three full weeks. It was pure magic though! Hammocks sprinkle every corner of the stone walk up a hill where Mystical domes, home

Office Space of The Week
I just spent almost a month without wifi (or coffee) on a remote farm in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala getting my yoga teacher certificate. Now that I have wifi again I will be sharing all of my pictures and stories very soon! In the meantime, here is my latest office space of the week! #officespaces #guatemala
