Trekking Volcano Fuego
I don’t know why I think these treks will get easier. Climbing the third highest Volcano Acatenango to see Volcano Fuego was a huge challenge. It only took us five-ish hours to get up to top, but we were lugging all of our stuff and our own water! It was also extremely steep. I’m glad I had a few of my friends from the yoga training there to keep pushing me along.
The views were so worth the struggle though. I know I say this a lot, but seeing that volcano erupt was the probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen before in my life! About every 15 minutes it just explodes smoke and lava with a loud thunder. We had this breathtaking sunset and camped the night before heading to the summit to see sunrise.
