Better late than never: Uruguay

Over two months late, but better late than never. My time in Uruguay was a total whirlwind of acclimating to this remote year program and being back in a big city after months in the jungles of Central America. I had lots of ups and downs about the program and still am not sure if joining a lasting community is working for me, but I’m hanging in there for now.

My favorite parts about Uruguay were the alfajores (cookie sandwiches with dulce de leche in between), Yerba mate, the 3’ platform shoes ALL the ladies wear and chivitos (a messy sandwich with steak, ham, cheese and egg).

Cabo Palonia weekend trip. We woke up for sunrise, stealing the hostel's bed sheets to stay warm.

Punta Diablo rainy hike

Stepping on the border between Brazil and Uruguay.

Teaching my first yoga class on our hotel rooftop
